Would you please advise with a simple yes or no – if you are elected, would you support pressuring the coalition Government to bring forward, and vote for, the Member’s Bill introduced by NZ First, which seeks to repeal the Health (Fluoridation of Drinking Water) Amendment Act 2021 so that decision making for fluoridation can be returned to the hands of each local council?

Deborah Dalliessi

Cyril Dawson

Yes! .

Yes I would because the decision should be localised instead of centralised. We need pure democracy and no fluoride as we need to stop curing system that we can prevent by going back to grass root healthy behaviours to put a total ban on candy and lollies and ensure we promote healthy eating in our communities and eliminate dental issues. Water is a pure gift from God we need to keep it safe clean and natural only on emergency circumstances can we add chemical but for a short time to clen and revert back to natural ways of keeping water clean wit regular testing.

Bobby Kadmon

Yes! You have my support.
Such decisions must be in the hands of Local Democracy and it’s constituency, which it (The Council) is to serve.
I oppose unnecessary fluoridation.

Vishaal A. Prasad

Yes. I’m friends with Jamie Arbuckle and a fan of NZ First, as they prioritise Kiwis first and others second.

I also back their efforts to repeal this and believe such matters should be handled by the local council.

Scott Adams

Yes

Greg Billington

Thank you but I cannot respond to a question I have not properly considered.

John Hyndman

No. My position is that I believe water fluoridation is a sensible measure to prevent tooth decay.
I believe it should be in all NZ drinking water.
If the decision is made by local councils, inevitably some councils will vote against fluoridation.
This would be a great pity as the children in those council areas pay the price.
In 2009 the NZ govertnment mandated iodized salt must be used when making bread for sale. This was obviously a sensible decision and I hear little dissention.

The same applies to fluoride in water.

I am not aware of any good research implicating fluoridated water in negative health impacts. (at concentrations recommended by WHO)

Fluoridated water confers enormous advantages and minimal  – if any- health risks.  It seems a no brainer to me.

In my opinion it is morally wrong to deny children the benefits of fluoridation.
