Tauranga Fluoride Free

TAURANGA COUNCIL DECIDED ON MONDAY 14 OCTOBER 2024 TO START FLUORIDATION.

Tauranga is one of the 14 councils that have been given a directive by the Director-General of Health to start fluoridation.  See Directive from Director-General of Health.

The Council is required to start fluoridation by 30 November 2024.

Fluoride was taken out of Tauranga’s water supply in 1992 after a referendum in which more than half of the city’s residents voted against its continued use.

Dr Alanna Ratna, Jodie Bruning and Robert Coe gave excellent speeches at the Tauranga City Council meeting Monday 26 August 2024.

The council voted unanimously to accept the following motion.

Fluoridation is on the agenda at this meeting on Monday 26 August. Three members of the public will be speaking at the start of the meeting providing council with the reasons the council should push back against the draconian fluoridation mandate forced on them by Director-General of Health Dr Diana Sarfati.

Letter sent to Tauranga City Councillors Saturday 24 August 2024.

During the 2024 election campaign, the soon-to-be-mayor Mahe Drysdale gave his views opposing fluoridation.
