Fluoridation & Dr. Paul Connett

Dr. Paul Connett – who admits he used to think people opposed to fluoridation were ‘a bunch of wackos’ – succumbed to his very persuasive wife’s request to get involved in the debate. On starting to read the literature, to his shock and embarrassment, Dr. Connett found some of the information extremely disturbing.Dr. Connett has spent 15 years since, looking at the science behind water fluoridation and argues that just because the dental and medical establishments endorse a public health measure, doesn’t mean it’s safe.In the case of water fluoridation, the chemicals that go into the drinking water that more than 180 million people drink each day are not even pharmaceutical grade, but rather a hazardous waste product of the phosphate fertilizer industry, which isn’t subjected to thorough toxicological testing and contains all kinds of contaminants such as lead and arsenic. It is illegal to dump this waste into the sea or local surface water, and yet it is allowed in drinking water.

From an ethical standpoint, water fluoridation is a bad medical practice: individuals pay for the convenience of a town water supply, without their informed consent being sought for the medication it contains; there is no control of the dose; and no monitoring of possible side effects.

If you’re currently all for fluoridation you’re encouraged to come and challenge your perspective. Will your stance be strong by the end of the discussions? If you’re on the fence, or have little knowledge, you’re invited to come and enhance your awareness. Be entertained by this riveting and easy to listen to speaker. If you oppose fluoridation, you’re welcome to attend and further your understanding and lend your support. Why not drag a good friend along and broaden their horizons?Although you wouldn’t guess it by the look or sound of him, Dr. Connett is 70 years old.Driven by his vision of the world’s populace receiving fluoride-free water, and receiving no money in exchange for his time, Dr. Connett has come to New Zealand to present the facts that we aren’t usually privy to.Don’t miss this opportunity, if you can avoid it.The presentations promise to be interesting.
