Would you please advise with a simple yes or no – if you are elected, would you support pressuring the coalition Government to bring forward, and vote for, the Member’s Bill introduced by NZ First, which seeks to repeal the Health (Fluoridation of Drinking Water) Amendment Act 2021 so that decision making for fluoridation can be returned to the hands of each local council?

Yes .

I don’t think that we should be medicated through our drinking water or food, I live in the country so drink untreated water free from added chemicals.

Brian Deller

Yes. Carterton district council does not have fluoride added to the potable water supplied to the community. I agree that it should be the decision of individual councils to decide once consulting with residents.

Chris Archer

I would prefer Council control on Fluoridation

Unsure – I’m currently looking into this issue in order to better understand the current evidence around the safety and effectiveness of fluoridation

I personally support fluoridation and also the rights of those who do not. I am a proponent of local decision making but in cases like this, I support policy remaining the responsibility of central government. I believe that the majority of residents support fluoridation therefore it should be retained. But you do have the option of bottled water or captured rain water as an alternate source of fluoride free water.

Diane MacKenzie

No.

John Futter

No. I support the fluoridation of drinking water. for those that do not want fluoride install a filter.

I fully believe in fluoridation of water. There are still councils around NZ not fluoridating the  water in their areas.
This is why mandatory fluoridation was bought in. This bill is to allow councils to not fluoridate if they choose to — a bad idea in my opinion
Simon yes you are right there are many options for homeowners to not have fluoridated water.

I support the fluoridation of water.  Provided it is well maintained.

People have a choice to buy bottled water if the don’t want fluoride but will you also want to ban fluoride in toothpaste?

What science are you basing your desire to remove fluoride upon?
