Would you please advise with a simple yes or no – if you are elected, would you support pressuring the coalition Government to bring forward, and vote for, the Member’s Bill introduced by NZ First, which seeks to repeal the Health (Fluoridation of Drinking Water) Amendment Act 2021 so that decision making for fluoridation can be returned to the hands of each local council?

Susan Galea

Yes. However I also want all the poisons out of the water. This months RAC mag in Australia lists all the poisons in our water. I was told by a water guy in OZ that they put 72 chemicals in to “purify” the water.

Also if you take Boron it removes Fluoride from your cells.

I absolutely support strong public health outcomes, including reducing child tooth decay, but I also believe councils shouldn’t be forced into unfunded mandates. If fluoridation is a national health priority, central government should fund it and be accountable for the decision. If councils are expected to pay, then councils and their communities should decide. I would support a model that makes funding and responsibility line up fairly.
