Would you please advise with a simple yes or no – if you are elected, would you support pressuring the coalition Government to bring forward, and vote for, the Member’s Bill introduced by NZ First, which seeks to repeal the Health (Fluoridation of Drinking Water) Amendment Act 2021 so that decision making for fluoridation can be returned to the hands of each local council?

I’m a GP and aware of the debate around fluoridation.
In Kaipara, most of us rely on rainwater tanks , around 75% of residents don’t have access to piped water.
I don’t believe adding fluoride to public water supplies is beneficial.
As a core belief, we should avoid forcefully medicating people.
Anyone who wishes to use fluoride has the freedom to purchase and use it as they choose, without it being imposed on everyone.
