Would you please advise with a simple yes or no – if you are elected, would you support pressuring the coalition Government to bring forward, and vote for, the Member’s Bill introduced by NZ First, which seeks to repeal the Health (Fluoridation of Drinking Water) Amendment Act 2021 so that decision making for fluoridation can be returned to the hands of each local council?

Logan Courtney

Yes I would put pressure on the Government to give back fluoridation back into Councils hands. There will be no fluoridation in the water.

Jacquie Grant

Yes

Yes fluoride is a toxin

Philip Barker

Research shows water fluoridation significantly reduces tooth decay in both children and adults and can decrease dental health inequalities. While some studies suggest a link between high fluoride exposure and lower IQ, most analyses find no significant health risks at the controlled levels used in community fluoridation, with a minimal risk of dental fluorosis.

I have no problems with Fluoride.

Greg Maitland

I am standing as a Northern Ward Westland District Council candidate in the up coming election. I am totally against fluoride in our public water supply. It is a toxin That has been proven to markedly lower the IQ in pre natal babies. Plus it goes against our human rights to be able to refuse medication.

Carol Martin

Yes, but it would be in the hands of the proposed Three Waters CCO (Buller, Grey, Westland).

Jane Alison Neale

Probably not. But I would be asking for a lot more information before making the decision.

Martin Bolland

No, I would not support repealing the amendment.
