As hard as it is to believe, councils around the country actually add an industrial toxic waste into the public drinking water because they are told it is a good way to reduce tooth decay. However, what they are not told, at least by the promoters of fluoridation such as the New Zealand Dental Association and the Ministry of Health, is that fluoridation chemicals are a toxic waste product from the manufacture from phosphate fertiliser that cannot legally be disposed of in rivers, lakes or the sea, except of course if it is drip fed through the public water supply.
The production of phosphate fertiliser produces two toxic gases, hydrogen fluoride and silicon tetrafluoride. These two gases were causing a huge amount of harm to livestock, vegetation and people living around phosphate fertiliser plants so industry was eventually forced to capture them in what are called “wet scrubbers”. This stops the fluoride gases from being released into the air but provides the industry with a toxic waste disposal problem which they partly solve by selling the waste to local councils.
In 2014, Fluoride Free New Zealand aired an advert on TV3 showing where the fluoridation chemicals come from. Because this seemed like something that couldn’t possibly be true, members of the public complained to the Advertising Standards Authority. However, none of the complaints were upheld as we were able to prove to the ASA (see Ruling) that what we were saying was true.
See below our 30 second advert.
