Dr Brett has been a practising dentist for over 30 years and operates out of a clinic in Kamo, Whangarei. He graduated in 1974 from Otago Dental School having also studied chemistry.   He has a special interest in preventive dentistry and biocompatible materials hence his interest in water fluoridation.  Dr Brett researched this topic for 35 years, has published research internationally and has been president of the NZAOMT.  He is a keen surfer, guitarist and grandad. He does not hold to the orthodoxy that fluoride is safe to use in dental medicine nor that water fluoridation actually works.
